For those familiar with the Credit Union's location, use one of the driveway entrances to the parking lot closest to Iowa and Columbia. There is one entrance on Iowa and one on Columbia just past Iowa (watch for it as it is just past the signal light) .

Park in either parking lot: the lot fronting Iowa or the lot fronting Columbia.

• If you park in the lot closest to Iowa, take the gradual step-up path (brownish concrete steps) to the branch.

• If you park in the lot in front of the branch you will need to use the stairs near the end of the building.

The area in front of the office has been taped-off; it needs repaving.

We will keep you informed of the progress. When the lot is completed, it will have a new surface and the entrances you are used to will be reopened.

BEFCU's online banking provider just upgraded their system. Members who log in to "HFS 2.0" will find a new logon process.

What does this mean for you?
Better security.

This change was made to protect you; it will help reduce the possibility of online theft. Known as multi-factor authentication, the new logon process requires a little more participation from you. Please follow the directions after you enter or logon. Note, your security image will not be present.

BEFCU's preliminary assessment indicates that
BEFCU's member-facing systems are unaffected.

Over the last week, several sources have reported security concerns
regarding the "Heartbleed" bug. This is a flaw in OpenSSL systems.
It affects many websites online encryption technology.

BEFCU has checked with its systems providers
and has been told the systems are safe to use.

While these providers have not recommended a password change,
changing your password regularly is a best practice
(and one BEFCU recommends all members do).

BEFCU will continue to monitor this situation and
will post additional information as it is received.
